Architectural luxury commerce storefront and custom REST backend. Designed and engineered end to end.

The Brief
In an era of cookie-cutter e-commerce templates and heavy third-party shop themes, MONOLITH was built to explore a clean, editorial apparel storefront with brutalist typography and fast client interactions.
The design prioritizes clarity over visual noise: the interface combines an editorial landing page, searchable catalogue, and responsive layouts.
Architecture
Engineered on a decoupled architecture. A clean REST service handles catalog lookups, size/color variant mapping, inventory status, and cart mutations.
The React and TypeScript frontend connects to a Node.js REST API, with SQLite persisting demo accounts, carts and orders.

Catalog & Taxonomy
A fictional catalogue of 60 garments, with generated product photographs, sizes, colours and illustrative product details.
Product photographs use responsive WebP variants. The catalogue can be searched, filtered and browsed across pages.
Visual Identity
Monochrome surfaces, dark stone depths, and strict typographic hierarchy. Every surface remains neutral so that the drape, weave, and texture of the garments command complete attention.
Generous spacing and a restrained palette give the garment imagery room to lead.
Storefront
The storefront features an interactive slide-out cart drawer, dynamic item counters, and smooth multi-variant filters without full-page reloads.
Shoppers can choose available sizes, manage a bag and explore a simulated checkout without real payments or shipments.
Outcome
An independent portfolio demo by Mohamad Rizal Rahmadi, developed with AI assistance. It demonstrates an editorial storefront, an API and persistent demo data; it is not a live retail service.
